Richmond Sharepoint User Group Monthly Meeting
Topic: Modernizing Workflows in the Era of OnPrem to Hybrid to Cloud Focus
In a not too distant past most organizations only had to contend with SharePoint Designer [aka SPD -SharePoint destroyer] to create workflows, and that graduated from procedural top down sequential tasks to State Machine with loops and App Identity contexts… a good maturity level over the years. Then came Office 365 and SharePoint Online (SPO) and then we had to contend with Microsoft Flow, we also had to figure out how to work in an environment that was Hybrid or ‘lift and shift’ into the Cloud. This session is all about the strategies you can undertake to evaluate your existing workflows, determine a portability or migration effort, and what you should consider as you build net new processes. As Microsoft encourages you to move more of your business to the Cloud and embrace Modern Sites, SPD is being de-emphasized and as such you will need a plan, this session is all about the plan & some execution.
